Reed Education Cardiff and Bristol are currently seeking a passionate Nurture Teacher to fulfil a temporary position within a specialist day school for pupils aged 11-16 with Autism Spectrum Conditions, Social, Emotional and associated needs. Position Overview : We are seeking a dedicated and dynamic Nurture Teacher to start immediately on a temporary, ongoing contract. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of a variety of SEMH needs, including complex needs and Autism, and will be adept at creating a bespoke curriculum to meet the diverse learning requirements of each student. Key Responsibilities : Create and deliver personalized lessons and activities that cater to the unique needs and abilities of students with SEMH, ensuring all learners can access and benefit from the curriculum. Employ diverse teaching strategies and resources to captivate students with Autism and cultivate a positive and inclusive learning environment. Work collaboratively with educators, support staff, and external professionals to develop comprehensive support plans and interventions for students with complex needs. Track student progress diligently, regularly assessing learning outcomes and adapting teaching methods to optimize academic success and personal growth. Build strong, supportive relationships with students, offering pastoral care and guidance to enhance their social and emotional well-being. Keep detailed records of student progress, attendance, and behaviour, and actively participate in review meetings and consultations with parents/carers Qualifications and Skills: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent Comprehensive understanding of SEMH needs, including complex and Autism, and the ability to adapt teaching approaches to tailor to individual pupils Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and establish positive relationships with students, colleagues, and parents/carers.
