We are looking to recruit an exceptional and enthusiastic Band 5 Staff Nurse to join our inpatient Gynaecology team at Arrowe Park Hospital. This post is fixed term for 12 months to cover maternity leave.
The Gynaecology Unit consists of the Gynaecology Outpatient Department and Treatment Centre, a 16 bedded inpatient ward, daycase unit, and an acute Gynaecology Assessment and Early Pregnancy Unit. The inpatient unit also supports with surgical outliers.
The successful candidate will support the nursing and medical team to provide safe care and treatment for patients during their admission to the unit. The role is rotational between the inpatient ward, day case unit and assessment areas and includes long days, weekends and night shifts.
Main duties of the job
You will work closely with members of the multidisciplinary team to ensure a smooth, safe and positive journey for all of our patients.
The post holder will have excellent communication skills and have an ability to deal with potentially difficult and emotive situations relating to pregnancy loss and oncology in a sensitive manner and make decisions using their own judgement whilst recognising the remit of their role.

If successful in this role, there is a requirement for you to have a standard/enhanced DBS. This will be paid for by the Trust and then deducted from your salary over a period of 3 months. As this vacancy is within the division of Womens and Childrens, there is a mandatory requirement for successful applicants to join the DBS update service. The cost of joining the update service is £13 per year, and applicants are liable to cover this cost with no reimbursement from the Trust. Further details of how to join the update service will be provided upon appointment.
