What skills and experience we're looking for
Following the retirement of our existing headteacher the governors of Ashdown Primary School are seeking a new leader for our popular, and regularly oversubscribed, split site school in the beautiful area of East Sussex, close to the Ashdown Forest.
The candidate will be a dynamic, experienced and inspirational leader who will have the opportunity to build on the successes of our school and shape its future. Ideally, they will be someone who possesses strong leadership qualities as well as a proven track record of delivering strong educational outcomes and school improvement. They should have a deep commitment to our school’s visions and values.
Our new Headteacher will:
• Be an aspirational strategic leader.
• Have high expectations of all pupils’ attainment, behaviour and attendance, and the skills needed to translate these expectations into pupils achieving their full potential.

• Be a leader who can maintain and further develop a cohesive school culture across two remote sites.
• Have a strong sense of community and community engagement.
• Be committed to high standards of teaching and professional development of staff.
• Build on our achievements pushing the school to even greater success.
