Working Monday-Friday between 7am and 8pm. £27,136 progressing to £30,152 BCP Housing First supports individuals aged 18 and over, who have high support needs and a history of long term rough sleeping and homelessness. Our aim is to give them a home of their own, where they can regain stability, safety, and support. We work in partnership with BCP council and all support services within BCP, this helps us deliver a strength based, person-centred approach, creating a positive environment to help them sustain a home. Our dedicated team provides intensive one to one support to help our clients achieve their goals, everything we do is to coach and empower our clients to eventually achieve independent living. If you love working with people and are looking for a role where you can make a real difference in the lives of those you support, then this is the role for you Main Responsibilities You will support your team to achieve their potential through regular staff supervision, coaching, training and induction Hold a small caseload of clients when required Further support your team where needed with their workload Manage staff annual leave, plan rotas and organise cover for absences ensuring adequate cover at all times Work flexibly where needed, and be part of the rota You’ll empower your team to work flexibly when engaging with the hard-to-reach clients Ensure an effective and timely response to all complaints and safeguarding issues taking appropriate action You will be involved in the recruitment of staff for your team You will attend meetings and represent the service to key stakeholders Increase presence of service in the local area to help win tenders and maintain current contracts Liaise with accommodation providers to develop an excellent working relationship Facilitate and monitor client support Provide reports and data where needed Be part of the on-call service Attend supervision, appraisal, training and meetings as directed which may be outside your normal working pattern Work flexibly across all areas of operation where required and prior notice given Any other reasonable task as requested by a member of staff Knowledge, Skills, Experience & Essential Qualifications/Training A minimum one years’ Management experience is desirable however not necessarily in this sector, what you will have is a real passion for wanting to work with people who are homeless. You will receive support and training in understanding the key principles of Housing First but some prior research and understanding of the support model is desirable. Clear verbal and written English and great communication skills Good understanding of IT and keyboard skills Polite, assertive manner Passion for working in a client/customer facing role Have an interest and genuine concern for homelessness and related issues Knowledge of voluntary and statutory agencies would be an advantage Some experience of this sector would be an advantage Knowledge of best practice in supporting people with drug/alcohol and/or mental ill health issues, including realistic harm reduction approaches Flexible to meet the needs of the service.
