Pay Rate: £16.63 per hour PAYE
Hours per week: 37 Monday – Friday, normal working hours
Role Length: This opening assignment is for 2-3 months

Basic DBS disclosure required for this role
The purpose of the role is to provide advice and assistance to customers on housing options in order to prevent and relieve homelessness and to minimise housing need.
Key responsibilities:
To find solutions to customers’ housing problems tailored to their individual needs.
To provide advice and assistance to housing applicants using Keyways, the Council’s choice-based allocations scheme.
To carry out investigations and assess homelessness applications in accordance with Part VII of the Housing Act 1996 (as amended).
Answering and dealing with incoming calls from the triage line.
Monitoring the email inbox and dealing with enquiries
Initial triaging of cases to assess if any duties owed
Completion of the full housing assessment.
Creation and Monitoring of Personalised Housing Plans
Writing Section 184 Letters.
Prevention and Relief – securing housing solutions for homelessness and threatened with homelessness households.

Skills & Experience:
Minimum of 12 months recent experience in a similar role, or context and ideally within a public sector organisation.
Experiencing of working in a social housing environment.
Experience of dealing with the public providing advice and/or support.
In-depth knowledge of Part 7 of the Housing Act 1996.
Experience in housing advice, casework, and negotiations with various stakeholders.
Strong communication skills and the ability to produce clear and concise statutory decision letters.
Capability to work independently and manage a diverse caseload efficiently.
Strong IT skills including Microsoft packages or equivalent (e.g. G Suite).
