Location: Atherstone
At our Atherstone site, we have approximately 550 colleagues producing sandwiches, wraps, rolls, bircher pots, and toasties for major UK retailers such as Aldi, Shell, Costa, and Cafe Nero.
What you'll be doing
As a Quality Manager, your role will be to lead and coordinate the quality assurance teams to improve and deliver services aligned with operational needs concerning safety, quality, legality, and customer requirements.
1. Direct the team to implement the quality management system, including internal audits, to ensure compliance with customer, legislative, divisional, and strategic standards.
2. Support external audits by providing operational information and demonstrating compliance.
3. Develop the capability of the Quality Assurance team through strategic initiatives.
4. Monitor key performance indicators and adjust activities to meet targets.
5. Plan resource utilization for quality assurance tasks.
6. Lead projects aimed at enhancing business effectiveness and cost efficiency.
7. Build production capabilities to meet technical requirements.
8. Ensure a safe working environment in accordance with health, safety, and environmental policies.

* Degree or equivalent qualification in a food-related field or relevant experience.
* Previous internal audit experience.
* Intermediate Food Hygiene Certificate Level 3 and Level 3 Health and Safety qualification.
* Experience in a food manufacturing environment.
* Proficiency with Word, Excel, and related IT packages.
* Knowledge of HACCP principles and practice.
* Awareness of allergens, labelling, and nutrition.
* Experience with shelf-life determination.
* Understanding of hygiene and disinfection principles.
* Basic microbiology awareness.
* Knowledge of risk assessment principles.
* Understanding of legal labelling requirements.
* Basic knowledge of weight legislation.
* Familiarity with technical KPIs.
