Hot End Shift Manager Barnsley Plant Role description Control and monitor Hot End production, to achieve maximum efficiency and quality standards, via effective use of labour and equipment. Responsibilities: Monitor quality checks carried out by the machine operators, on the bottles to ensure they meet specification. Attend daily meetings, to gain awareness of any occurrences that have taken place during previous shift and highlight any potential issues. Establish an effective communication flow between shop floor and senior management in order to maintain a well-informed team. Assist in job changes in order to establish and maintain efficient operations during and after a job change. Observe the performance of the Independent Section machines directly and via the Production Information systems, responding to any changes in order to maintain efficient operations. Respond to any machine operator queries in order to resolve problems and minimise downtime. Identify and repair occurring mechanical malfunctions or container defects in order to maintain efficiency. Resolve any personnel issues if possible, or inform management required. Required skills / qualifications: Managing a team Understanding of company quality plans and procedures Good working knowledge of Forming Process Understanding of Container Quality Checks In depth understanding of terminology relating to defects, specification and process.
