About This Role
We are looking for an experienced EMC Engineer to join our team. As an EMC Engineer, you will play a key role in guiding designs and testing across multiple projects. You will work closely with our team to ensure that our products meet the highest standards of electromagnetic compatibility.
Main Responsibilities:
Keep up to date with relevant EMC and TEMPEST standards.
Participate in requirements reviews and make contributions to applicable EMC and TEMPEST standards.
Review relevant test and control plans to ensure that products will be adequately tested for EMC and TEMPEST.
Liaise with test houses to ensure they are appropriately trained on products and supporting equipment.
Visit test houses during testing and resolve any issues.
Estimate time and effort required for test activities to ensure cost and schedule adherence.
Work constructively with other project team members, actively contributing to design reviews, to ensure a collaborative working environment.
Explain technically complex concepts clearly to less technical/involved parties.
If and when EMC or TEMPEST related failures arise, determine the cause and work with engineers to find solutions which ideally should not require major changes to hardware.
Manage security of information as defined in Security manual to ensure compliance with Government regulations
Essential Requirements:
Degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering or equivalent experience.
Extensive experience of EMC requirements and testing.
Be able to investigate EMC failures and suggest corrective actions.
Ideally some experience of TEMPEST
Proven track record of collaborative working with test houses.
Experience of best practice for right-first-time design for EMC and ideally TEMPEST.
Must be able to obtain DV clearance
