Long-Term Teachers is working on behalf of a brilliant secondary special school that is looking for a cover supervisor to provide essential support. The role of a cover supervisor is to lead classes with pre-planned cover when the teacher is absent. It may also involve providing additional TA support when required.
The school provides high quality education and support for students aged 11-16 that have a range of additional needs, but are primarily focused around their social, emotional and mental health needs (SEMH). Their students have not had their needs met in mainstream education so the role that you will play is essential in supporting their academic and personal growth.
The school requires someone who is fully invested in and shares their vision of making a real difference in the lives of their students. Due to the nature of the students, it is vital that you feel confident in dealing with challenging behaviour and are adaptable.
The role is suitable for applicants from a variety of backgrounds. You may be an experienced TA looking for more responsibility and experience of leading a class or a teacher looking to simply deliver pre-planned lessons without the added workload of paperwork and planning!
The ideal candidate:
* Secondary school based experience is preferred
* SEMH experience is essential
* Full time availability (Monday - Friday)
* Patience, resilience, enthusiasm and flexibility
* Confident in leading classes and managing challenging behaviour
* Able to drive and have access to your own car

This position will involve working on an ad-hoc supply basis, Monday to Friday, term time only.
