A lovely elderly lady living in retirement accommodation in Duns, is looking for an experienced and patient support worker to join her small team to offer her daily support. This role would involve a bed visit around 9pm each 3 days a week and a Monday morning visit around 9am. The role involves supporting her with her morning and evening routines including showering, dressing and continence care as well as medication prompts and meal preparation and encouragement. There is also the opportunity for more hours to cover annual leave etc.
Terms:
* Hours per week: Up to 3.5 hours
* Hours of work: Morning visits at around 9am for 1.25 hours, evening visit around 9pm for 1 hour.
* £12.60 per hour.
* Paid annual leave entitlement of 5.6 weeks pro rata
* Probationary period of 6 months
* Post subject to references and PVG scheme membership
Main Tasks & Responsibilities
* To support client to ensure their safety and well-being.
* To support with personal care needs as required including:
o Support with washing and showering
o Support with dressing
o Support with continence care
* To support with general care needs including:
o Meal and hot drink preparation
o Medication prompting
* To support to maintain cleanliness and tidiness of the client’s equipment and surroundings
* To develop a positive relationship with the client and her family
* To work alongside another member of the team when required but to work independently too.
* To be an active team member to ensure full support to the client as required.

Skills and Experience
* Care experience would be desirable.
* First Aid training and an awareness of infection control would be an advantage but training can be provided if necessary
