The Role:
As the Commercial Manager, you will be at the forefront of our commercial operations, managing all financial aspects of a major project valued between £30,000,000 and £60,000,000. Your strategic insight and commercial acumen will drive profitability and ensure the successful delivery of our projects.
Key Responsibilities:
* Oversee all commercial activities related to large-scale industrial and steel frame projects.
* Manage project budgets, forecasts, and financial planning to ensure profitability.
* Develop and implement commercial strategies aligned with project objectives.
* Negotiate and manage contracts, including subcontractor agreements and client variations.
* Monitor project costs, prepare financial reports, and ensure accurate cost control.
* Lead the commercial team, providing guidance and support to junior members.
* Resolve commercial disputes and manage claims effectively.
* Collaborate closely with project managers and senior management to align commercial goals.
* Ensure compliance with all legal and contractual obligations.
Requirements:
* Proven experience as a Commercial Manager in the construction industry, particularly with industrial and steel frame projects.
* Strong understanding of construction contracts, financial management, and cost control.
* Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
* Ability to lead and mentor a commercial team.
* Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
* Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
* MRICS or equivalent professional qualification is preferred.
* Full understanding of industry-standard software and tools.
