Manpower Engineering is recruiting for an Operations Engineer on behalf of our client, a leader in sustainable power generation solutions.
About The Company:
Our client is a leading supplier and operator of combined heat and power (CHP), gas, and diesel power generation solutions. Specializing in delivering efficient and sustainable energy systems, they provide comprehensive design, installation, and maintenance services to clients across various industries.
Main Purpose of Your Role:
1. Scheduled and unscheduled maintenance.
2. To efficiently diagnose & implement all reactive maintenance work on our clients' installations / Other user's installations.
3. To carry out initial fault finding (locally & remotely) on installations / Other user's installations.
4. To participate in a scheduled on-call system and assist with breakdowns, carrying out scheduled and unscheduled maintenance.
Main Duties & Responsibilities:
Responsible to the Service Manager for all aspects related to the service and maintenance of all gas and diesel engines and their ancillary equipment. Ensure that all maintenance is completed at the lowest operating cost while adhering to the performance criteria required within the Service Contracts.
Responsible for close co-operation with the Service Manager, and all associated with the company's parts and service organisation for all aspects related to the successful operation of the After Sales Contracts. In each of the above items, the fundamental responsibility is with the individual Manager, but decisions are made that are beneficial to the wellbeing of the Edina Group.
Day to day operational decisions involve:
1. Planning of resources and parts to achieve acceptable commercial results.
2. Engineering problem solving and efficient, effective, and timely repairs.
3. Making day to day decisions of an engineering nature, while working within the parameters required by the Service Manager.
4. Understanding business goals for effective decision making regarding technical fault finding and implementing rectification to increase profitability and lower risk of further failures.
5. Ensuring profitability of all After Sales Contracts as measured against the published Target.
6. Maximizing the availability of each contract through a thorough and robust maintenance regime.
7. Carrying out any other duties deemed necessary by management.
Requirements:
1. Minimum qualification to ONC/D, NVQ Level II or City & Guilds level 2 in mechanical/electrical engineering or motor vehicle.
2. Competent time served Technician in a mechanical/electrical discipline, preferably with a minimum of 3 years' experience.
3. Competent Technician with considerable skills and in-depth knowledge of gas/diesel engines.
4. Flexible approach to working conditions due to 24 hour, 7 day operational nature of after sales contracts.
5. The role will involve weekend work and possible out of hours' work.
6. Requirement to participate in an established 24 callout program based on a rota system.
7. Willingness to undertake necessary mandatory in house training programmes associated with role.
