Job: Tax Accountant/Assistant Tax Manager
Location: Bracknell, Berkshire 4 days in office, 1 from home
Job Summary:
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Tax Accountant to join our in-house EMEA Tax team. This role offers the opportunity to work on a diverse range of tax matters, including corporate tax compliance, transfer pricing, and US GAAP tax reporting. You will support the EMEA Tax Manager and Head of International Tax in delivering tax compliance and reporting obligations, while also contributing to strategic initiatives and process improvements.

Key Accountabilities:
Corporate Tax Compliance:
1. Prepare UK corporate tax returns, including return-to-provision calculations.
2. Manage tax-related processes such as payments on account, group relief claims, loss utilisation, and corporate interest restrictions.
3. Oversee the withholding tax process, ensuring maximisation of double tax relief claims.
4. Draft Local GAAP tax notes and perform a tax review of UK statutory accounts.
US GAAP Tax Reporting:
1. Assist in preparing EMEA quarterly and annual US GAAP tax reports, including cash tax forecasting and effective tax rate (ETR) modelling.
2. Support the calculation of UK Group tax provisions (current year and return to provision).
3. Collaborate with the US head office tax team to ensure compliance and accuracy in reporting.
Employment Taxes:
1. Coordinate data collection for PSA returns and taxed award schemes, ensuring timely submission.
International Tax Compliance:
1. Manage documentation for double tax relief, including loan passports, tax clearances, W8BEN forms, and residence certificates.
Transfer Pricing:
1. Assist in maintaining EMEA group transfer pricing documentation and ensure compliance with intercompany agreements.
2. Support updates to legal documentation to reflect transfer pricing positions accurately.
Additional Responsibilities:
1. Conduct research and provide support for ad hoc tax queries and strategic projects.
2. Support the preparation and submission of R&D tax credit claims, working with external advisors.
3. Assist in meeting Senior Accounting Officer (SAO) compliance requirements.
4. Assist with annual SOX controls design and testing.
Essential Skills and Experience:
1. Qualified in a recognised accountancy or tax qualification (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CTA).
2. Strong proficiency in Excel and familiarity with tools such as Smartview, PowerPoint, and Word.
3. Experience in corporate tax compliance, either in-house or within a practice environment.
4. Knowledge of tax return software (e.g., OneSource) and tax reporting processes.
Desirable Skills and Experience:
1. Exposure to US GAAP tax reporting.
2. Familiarity with transfer pricing principles and software (e.g., Exactera).
3. Knowledge of tax provision software (e.g. OneSource Tax Provision).
4. Experience with indirect tax matters, such as partial exemption, cross-border VAT or PSA compliance.
5. Knowledge of systems like Oracle Fusion, PBCS forecasting, or FCCS consolidation tools.
