Responsibilities and duties
Reporting to the Shift Team Leader, you will:
Ensure compliance to all health, safety and environmental regulations on site.
Complete training and develop your competence in line with the sites safety rules.
Carry out regular plant walkarounds and inspections to ensure efficient and safe operations of the plant, as well as record and log issues and safety concerns clearly and concisely.
Learn to understand the correct way to respond to emergency situations.
Assist in the operating of the plant systems as well as operate mobile plant equipment and overhead gantry.
Assist in the monitoring of plant inputs and outputs.
Collect and report data as instructed.
Provide shift cover in case of illness, holiday or training absences.
Professional qualifications
We are looking for someone with the following:
Ideally operations experience in a similar environment or a background in defence sectors.
Experience operating mobile plant equipment would be advantageous.
Computer literate.
Knowledge of health and safety practises.
Personal skills
The Assistant Plant Operator role would suit someone who:
Is enthusiastic about learning.
Is a reliable team player.
Has good communication standards both written and verbal.
