What do the team do?
The Business team provides a mix of accounting services ranging from bookkeeping and year-end accounts preparations to the filing of tax returns. They have a relationship-centric approach and are trusted advisors to clients of all shapes and sizes, typically owner-managed businesses, giving you the opportunity to deal directly with the decision-makers and to truly help shape the direction of their firm.
In the Peterborough-based Business team, you will be responsible for preparing year-end accounts and tax computations for clients with turnovers typically up to £2m.
What will I be doing?
As an Accounts Assistant Manager / Manager in the Business team, you will have ownership of the following tasks:
* Controlling your own portfolio, including everything from workforce planning, management of WIP, and billing.
* Demonstrating a clear understanding of assignment plans and briefing team members accordingly.
* Delegating work to more junior members of the team and ensuring work is done on budget.
* Signing off on files prepared by more junior team members and producing completed files for final partner review.
* Working with the partner to plan ahead and effectively manage workflow for the team.
* Building and further developing client relationships with existing and new clients.
What experience do I need?
While having the following experience is advantageous, we value passion and potential. If you meet the minimum criteria listed below and are eager to develop yourself, we would love to hear from you:
* A professional accounting qualification - ACA or ACCA (minimum criteria).
* Experience of managing a portfolio of clients requiring statutory accounts preparations and tax computations (minimum criteria).
* People management experience.
* Strong time management skills and the ability to juggle multiple priorities.
* Commercial and proactive approach to client development.
