East Suffolk Council is looking for an Assistant Director - Operations to join our team working between Lowestoft and Woodbridge. You will join us on a full-time, permanent basis. The successful candidate will earn a competitive salary of £71,342 per annum.

We currently have an opportunity to join our company as an Assistant Director (Operations). This role will be responsible for waste collection, street cleaning, grounds maintenance, building cleaning, fleet, workshops, and transport. As a business, we also deliver parking enforcement, facilities management, CCTV, Home Alarms, cash collection, bereavement services, and more!
Your role:
The responsibilities within the role will be to lead the operational teams at a time of large-scale business change. Delivering new waste services, ensuring fleet procurement and compliance, as well as developing opportunities in the grounds service, are three key areas for this role. You will be comfortable with change and developing new ways of working to deliver results and overall business profitability while supporting the Senior Leadership Team in ensuring we actively engage with our front-line teams and developing and delivering a program of improvement across the business.

Our ideal candidate will be dynamic, with demonstrable senior management operational experience, expertise in delivering large frontline services, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, commercial environment. You must be able to inspire others to achieve results with the ability to think and act at a strategic level, possessing strong leadership skills and a hands-on approach to delivering results and developing people.
