Role: Aircraft Mechanical Supervisor
Location: Middle Wallop - Onsite
Role Type: Contract | 6 months - initially
Salary: £35 an hour + overtime

The Role:
The Mechanical Supervisor is part of the Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) organisation, contributing to key programmes. Responsibilities include ensuring adherence to established processes, accurate work documentation, and compliance with contractual and regulatory standards.
Reporting to the Operations Lead and overseeing a small team of aircraft technicians. This role involves planning, distributing, and supervising technical work, ensuring compliance with company standards and certifications. The ideal candidate will demonstrate leadership, technical expertise, and a collaborative approach, while maintaining high standards of health and safety within their teams.
Key Skills and Experience:
* Strong communication skills with the ability to assign and sequence technical work for the team while managing workloads and maintaining high standards.
* Competency in understanding and interpreting technical documents, drawings, and publications.
* Familiarity with MAA Regulatory Articles (RA), MAA Regulatory Publication (MRP) Part 145, aviation Quality Assurance (QA), and Safety Management Systems (SMS).
* Recognised trade apprenticeship or equivalent experience.
* Knowledge of general aircraft maintenance, including Human Factors, FOD control, tool control, and health & safety regulations.
* Experience in either commercial or defence sectors.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office.
* Commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion.
* 2nd Signature responsibilities on the Apache Platform are a "must".
Responsibilities include:
* Leading aircraft maintenance under the client's MAA MRP Part 145 approval or the MOD customer's approval.
* Performing assembly, disassembly, modification, troubleshooting, and repairs of complex aircraft systems in accordance with authorised technical documents.
* Adapting to flexible work locations and times to meet customer deadlines.
* Providing mentorship and guidance to peers and trainees.
* Managing emerging risks and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.
* This role requires the ability to obtain supervisory authorisations for the relevant aircraft type and will involve oversight of team performance and mentoring Apprentices or Trainees.
