A Snapshot of Your Day
As a key member of our team, your day will be dynamic and engaging, starting with hands-on assembly, wiring, and testing of high-voltage switchgear components and ancillary equipment. You’ll play a vital role in supporting the successful delivery of various contracts, ensuring we meet our business unit targets and stay within budget.
When needed, you’ll have the opportunity to visit customer sites, where you’ll conduct repairs, maintenance, and installations of HV switchgear and related components. Your contributions will be essential in maintaining our high standards of quality and service, making each day both challenging and rewarding. How You’ll Make An Impact
1. Operate as part of a multi-skilled team on a diverse range of products, with occasional training opportunities in Germany.
2. Demonstrate experience in wiring control panels, circuit breakers, and other components from various wiring diagrams.
3. Conduct mechanical and electrical testing on various switchgear ranges.
4. Exhibit the ability and flexibility to work on both new and refurbished products based on engineering drawings.
5. Adhere to good working practices and comply with QHS&E procedures.
6. Be prepared to work overtime and/or shifts to meet production targets.
7. Attend and perform duties at various customer sites as required.
8. Maintain high housekeeping standards within the Service Centre and contribute to promoting innovation for continuous productivity improvement.
What You Bring
1. Demonstrate competence through a recognized craft apprenticeship or achievement of NVQ/SVQ Level 3 or equivalent.
2. Operate Forklift Trucks, Pendant Cranes, and Mobile Elevating Work Platforms with the appropriate training.
3. Read and interpret wiring diagrams, schedules, and schemes effectively.
4. Assemble and wire cubicles according to specifications.
5. Perform mechanical assembly of electrical components based on engineering drawings.
6. Conduct wire checking and fault finding on control panels, holding both FLT and Crane licenses.
