Teaching Personnel is looking for a driven, charismatic and passionate practitioner to support a dedicated all-through school that supports students aged 7-19 with autism and related social and communication needs.

Key Responsibilities:
- Provide one-to-one and small group support to students with autism and communication needs.
- Assist in the delivery of personalized learning plans and targets, ensuring each student's individual needs are met.
- Support students with communication difficulties using a range of strategies (e.g., PECS, Makaton, AAC).
- Encourage positive behaviours and social interactions, promoting an inclusive classroom environment.
- Monitor student progress, providing regular feedback to teachers and other staff.
- Work closely with parents and carers to ensure effective communication and support for each child's development.
- Support students in accessing the curriculum, ensuring they are fully included in all school activities.
- Work as part of a multidisciplinary team, collaborating with external professionals and specialists.
Requirements:
- Previous experience working with children with autism and related social and communication needs.
- A strong understanding of autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and strategies for supporting communication and social development.
- Knowledge of communication tools such as PECS, Makaton, or other alternative communication methods.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with students, staff, and families.
- Patience, empathy, and a proactive approach to supporting students.
- Ability to work as part of a team, collaborating with teachers, other assistants, and external professionals.
- A commitment to creating a safe and nurturing environment for all students.
Desirable:
- Experience working in a special educational needs (SEN) setting.
- Relevant qualifications in Special Educational Needs, Childcare, or Education.
- A knowledge of the local community and services for students with autism and related needs.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
