About the service Our Routes Renfrewshire youth service is a partnership with Scottish families affected by alcohol and drugs, delivering their successful youth programme across Renfrewshire. Your role will be to co-produce and take part in activities with young people aged 12-26, who are affected by family substance use. We strive to challenge the stigma of substance use and addiction through trauma informed practice and understanding. You will be there to empower young people, by creating opportunities and build trusted relationships. It is essential that you are a confident driver and have access to a car, as we cover the whole Renfrewshire area, often traveling to different localities for trips and activities. Our service operates between the hours of 9am and 9pm Monday to Friday and 12-4pm on Saturdays. You'll work 5 days out of 7 and manage your diary to ensure our service meets the needs of our young people. How you'll help to create brighter futures Facilitating groups to bring young people with similar experiences together for fun and peer support Providing 1:1 emotional support and activities for young people in the Renfrewshire area Working 5 days over 7 to ensure young people have access to positive experience in the evenings and weekends Working closely with schools to promote the service and encourage young people to self-refer Let's talk about you Are you resilient and have a positive approach to change and challenge? We are looking for someone with a 'can do' attitude to join our team. Ideally you will have: Demonstrable experience of working in a care setting and developing positive relationships through trust Application of a range of techniques to co-ordinate and communicate with service users and their families Demonstrate a solution focused approach to address problems, individually and in a team setting Demonstrate emotional resilience to respond to the challenging nature of the role Possess a Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or recognised equivalent) or if you do not possess this you must be prepared to complete this within 2 years of commencing employment with us, full support will be provided.
