Consultant Psychiatrist - Community Forensic Team (FIND)
An exciting opportunity has arisen for the post of a Consultant Psychiatrist in the Forensic Intellectual and Neurodevelopmental Disorders (FIND) Service. The service consists of three teams: Specialist Community Forensic Team (SCFT), Forensic Personality Disorder Service (FPDS), and FIND. Over the last 5 years, FPDS and SCFT have expanded, and FIND expansion is planned for 2024/2025. FIND is a regional service serving Devon (including Plymouth), Cornwall, and the Isles of Scilly. The FIND service delivers a care pathway service for both men and women with Intellectual Disabilities, Autism, and/or Acquired Brain Injury (ABI). The service works with these patients in order to optimise length of stay and the forensic care pathway. A key aim is to reduce the use of out-of-area or specialist placements and for efficient use of South West network beds. Currently, the FIND service offers Signposting and advice (Tier 1), Consultation, training, and supervision (Tier 2), Joint work, Care pathway management, and Access assessment (Tier 3). When the FIND team has undergone the planned expansion, they will also hold a small caseload of Tier 4 Care co-ordination.
The post-holder will join an exciting and highly motivated team in delivering a range of care in a well-established tiered system.
