Job Summary:
To produce BIM/CAD outputs required for the development of the project complying with HS2 and Mace Dragados BIM and CAD requirements. To collaborate with project members (Mace Dragados, HS2, Supply chain, third parties) in developing graphical outputs and extracting information from the graphical model. This collaboration is closer with Design, Construction, Temporary Works, and Survey teams. To follow and enforce the implementation of Mace Dragados BIM Execution Plan policies for information production. To collaborate with the Information Management Team in the development, implementation, and maintenance of the Information Use Cases. To support the development of project team technical competences using the BIM model. The BIM Technician reports to the CAD/BIM Manager.
Key Responsibilities:
* Produce graphical data (3D, 2D, federated models, drawings, visualizations, etc.), GIS, documentation, or asset data for Mace Dragados team for all project phases from early design to handover.
* Produce as-built or any other graphical data required for project completion.
* Work with the Design, Temporary Works, Survey, and Construction teams in producing graphical data for various purposes.
* Support project members in meetings.
* Follow CAD/BIM Manager instructions and assist in producing graphical data and coordinating Supply Chain graphical production.
* Produce or populate any piece of PIM information required (graphical, non-graphical, GIS, or documentation).
* Produce visualizations or videos when required to support the project team.
* Support the Information Management Team in producing, implementing, and maintaining the BIM Execution Plan and other project documentation.
* Execute the transformation of graphical data between different software systems.
* Support the Information Management team in implementing Information Use Cases.
* Assist the CAD/BIM Manager in providing training to the Mace Dragados Team.
Qualifications, Certifications and Experience:
* In-depth working knowledge of 3D modeling and 2D drawing production.
* In-depth working knowledge of Projectwise.
* Well-developed IT skills including Office Suite.
* In-depth knowledge of BIM/CAD software.
* Understanding of Clash detection and CAD/BIM coordination processes.
* Significant experience in complex station/transport interchange infrastructure build and management roles on similar projects within the construction industry.
* Advanced Excel user (formulas and pivot tables).
* Experience in extracting data and quantities from 3D models.
* Coding skills.
* Previous experience working for major rail infrastructure clients.
Technical Competencies:
* Good communication skills in English, both written and verbal, with the ability to report clearly.
* Understanding and working knowledge of BS 1192:2007.
* In-depth working knowledge of Revit, Navisworks, and Autodesk BIM enabling applications; understanding of AECOsim/open Buildings, Navigator platform, and Bentley BIM enabling applications.
* Knowledge of BIM and CAD Standards.
* Knowledge of parametrical BIM objects configuration in Open Buildings.
* Knowledge of 4D software.
