Your new role
As our new Principal Civil Engineer, you will be part of a highly dynamic, 300-strong, multi-disciplinary buildings practice contributing to and leading the Civil Engineering for some of the industry’s most innovative and sustainable building projects across the UK. You will play a vital role in shaping project success through effective design leadership, coordinating, mentoring, promoting and encouraging collaboration between the Civil and Structural teams and our external collaborators, to ensure projects are delivered efficiently and with the highest quality standards.
Your key responsibilities will be:
* Lead, design and deliver coordinated, buildings related civil engineering design solutions for major projects across the UK from RIBA workstage 1 to 5.
* Develop innovative drainage strategies that contribute to a well balanced holistic solution for our clients, promoting bio-diversity net gain whilst also minimising the project’s carbon footprint.
* Mentor and develop team members and work across the business to stimulate collaboration.
* Apply and promote policies relating to health and safety, quality and training.
Your new team
You will be part of Buildings Civil Engineering Team based in either the Birmingham, Southampton or Manchester offices. We support our Buildings Practice across the UK helping to deliver a diverse workload including commercial, residential, education, healthcare, heritage, industrial, defence, custodial and other Government funded sectors. Our team is currently based out of four Ramboll UK offices with most team-mates choosing to work in a hybrid office / home location. Even so, we are a close knit, very supportive team which has helped us to record some of the UK’s highest scores during Ramboll’s Employee Satisfaction and Engagement Survey.
About you

* A degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering and professionally qualified at IEng or CEng level with the Institution of Civil Engineers.
* Proficient in leading and managing all aspects of project delivery from RIBA stage 1 to 5.
* Have a high degree of technical competence with demonstrable appreciation of sustainable drainage design.
* Experienced in the use of Microdrainage, Causeway Flow or Infodrainage and able to teach others.
* Able to mentor and train junior members of staff.
