Interim Operations Director

Our client is seeking an experienced Operations Director for a 9-month period starting in May 2025. You will have a proven track record in the waste sector, demonstrating strong leadership skills and a comprehensive understanding of the industry's legal regulations and guidelines.
This role reports directly to the Managing Director and you will also be a member of the Executive Team.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Oversee daily waste, recycling and cleaning operations and ensure efficient workflow
2. Implement strategic initiatives to improve operational performance
3. Ensure compliance with industry regulations and guidelines
4. Lead and mentor the operations team in the delivery of the business plan
5. Line management responsibility for two Deputy Operations Directors
Essential Requirements for the Role:
1. Waste Industry experience at a senior level within a large multi-disciplinary environment, Teckal or Local Authority organisation, or equivalent experience
2. Strong ability to build and nurture effective partnerships, manage stakeholder relationships, and influence others to achieve business objectives
3. Proven ability to develop and implement strategic approaches across multiple teams and functions to deliver high performing services
Work hours are 37.5 hours per week Mon-Fri. The role will require the postholder to be based on site a minimum of 4 days a week.
