Torus Foundation is looking for a dynamic and dedicated Lead Youth Worker - Participation & Engagement to join our team at the
FireFit Hub.
This role is ideal for an experienced youth worker who is passionate about empowering young people and fostering a culture of
youth voice, participation, and engagement.
As part of the FireFit Youth Leadership Team, you will play a key role in leading the operational delivery of FireFit’s Youth
Programme and guiding a talented team of Youth Workers in Music and Creative Arts.

Responsibilities:
* Lead Youth Workers and manage the Youth Team to support the day-to-day operations of the FireFit Hub, creating exciting and
innovative opportunities for improving the lives of young people and the wider community.
* Line manage the youth work team, ensuring performance is managed, and complete regular appraisals, one-to-ones, and team
meetings.
* Have overall management responsibility when on duty to indirectly manage FireFit Hub staff, bookings, and programs when on
shift.
* Ensure youth voice runs across all strands of youth work delivery in FireFit, including leading on the development of FireFit’s
Youth Board.
* Quality assure youth voice, participation, and engagement across the hub using agreed methodology, monitoring, and evaluation
tools.
* Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to build effective working relationships and strategic alliances to support
delivery at FireFit Hub.
* Monitor and report to the Youth Team Manager on performance using agreed methodology. Propose and agree on remedial plans of
action where necessary.
* Lead in the planning, coordination, and delivery of youth projects and programs at the Hub, ensuring that all health, safety,
and safeguarding arrangements, consultation, resources, and budgets are in place.
* Lead the development of Open Access Youth provision for young people, ensuring that the provision reflects the changing needs
of young people.
* Work with the Management Team to implement the staff appraisal and performance management system.
* Ensure the effective monitoring and evaluation of activities and programs to meet performance targets in accordance with the
needs of young people, funding objectives, and delivery plans.
* Lead in the promotion of the Youth Zone and positively contribute towards increasing Youth Zone membership and attendance.
* Manage the delivery, monitoring, and evaluation of funded projects on time and within budget and in accordance with grant
conditions.
* Manage the engagement and completion of internal compulsory training programs, ensuring that training and workforce development
for team members is adhered to.
Skills & Experience:
* Level 3 Youth Work or relevant experience.
* First Aid at Work qualification (or be willing to work towards).
* Experience of leading design, delivery and evaluation of youth projects and activities with children and young people.
* Experience of Line management / supervision of staff and operational programmes
Interview Process:
* Each candidate will undertake a competency-based in which team managers and representative young person from youth voice will
ask questions on the panel.
Additional Information:
The postholder will be required to work evenings and weekends in the following pattern:
Tuesday: 2pm-9.45pm
Wednesday: 9.30am - 5.15pm
Thursday: 2pm - 9.45pm
Friday: 2pm - 9.45pm
Saturday: 9.45am - 5.30pm
