Environmental and Sustainability Manager
An Environmental and Sustainability Manager will use their expert knowledge and skills to promote a positive environmental culture in the workplace based around the guiding principles. A key part of the role is the responsibility for the development and support of the Sustainability Strategy, and Environmental procedures which allow NTS to remain compliant to industry standards, stakeholder, and customer requirements. An essential part of the role is, promoting a culture of Environmental compliance in the workplace and performing regular detailed assurance checks and audits across NTS and its supply chain.
Principal Accountabilities (key areas)
* Support and provide advice on the development & review of the sustainability strategy, carbon management plan, monitor and measure the SDG’s performance
* Ensure environmental processes and plans to ensure they meet the appropriate standards
* Support in the development and tracking of the audit schedule
* Conducting in-house training sessions on environmental awareness
* Via auditing and assurance activities ensure compliance is being met by NTS staff, supply chain and contractors to required standards
* Track and ensure actions are closed out suitably
* Assist the Head of HSE Nuclear & Assurance in the continued improvement to the NTS Management system
* Provide support to Team Leaders, Managers and Functional Heads on all Matters Environment
* Provide a credible interface and represent the Nuclear & Assurance Department at meetings with Customers, Professional Bodies
* Feeding back results to Colleagues & other Departments as necessary
* Produce Environment communications with the aim of continually improving the communication of key topics and risks
* Maintain good knowledge and good practice in the Nuclear Rail/Shipping Industry.
