Client: Central London Local Authority \nJob Title: Electrical Contracts Manager\nStart Date: ASAP\nContract: Ongoing Temporary Contract\nPay Rate: £38 per hour Umbrella LTD (Inside IR35)\nAbout the Role:An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Electrical Contracts Manager to join a Council's Housing & Modernisation Department in Central London. This role will be part of the Asset Management - Engineering & Compliance division, focusing on managing borough-wide electrical schemes and ensuring high standards in project delivery, compliance, and resident satisfaction.\n\nKey Responsibilities:\nLead and manage the electrical safety team to ensure effective planning and prioritisation of workloads.\nMonitor and manage service providers, contractors, consultants, and agencies to maintain high service delivery standards.\nOversee borough-wide electrical projects, ensuring quality workmanship and compliance with safety regulations.\nManage monthly performance reviews of contractors and consultants, ensuring best practices and continuous improvement.\nContribute towards investment strategies aimed at enhancing the electrical installations and fire alarm systems within council properties.\nOversee budgeting, financial planning, and reporting on projects with an annual budget of up to £30m.\nEnsure effective procurement, contracting, and compliance across various contract types.\nLiaise with residents, officers, councillors, and other stakeholders to maintain strong communication throughout project lifecycles.\nRepresent the council at meetings, including tenant and leaseholder engagements.Essential Skills & Experience:\nCity & Guilds 2360 Parts 1 & 2, 2391 Inspection, Testing & Certification of Electrical Installations, and 2382 18th Edition BS7671.\nStrong knowledge of Housing Fire Safety regulations and testing/certification of Fire Alarm installations.\nExperience managing electrical contracts, monitoring contractor performance, and delivering large-scale projects.\nStrong leadership skills with experience managing teams and fostering collaboration.\nExcellent strategic planning, communication, and stakeholder engagement abilities.\nProficiency in IT systems, including spreadsheets and performance monitoring tools.\nAbility to manage and deliver high-value projects within budget and timelines.\nWillingness to attend site visits and evening meetings as required.How to Apply:If interested or have any queries, please feel free to get in touch on (phone number removed) or via email at (url removed)
