What you'll do
The Financial Crime Manager will be responsible for supporting the Senior Compliance and Financial Crime Advice Manager with the delivery of a robust compliance framework across all Vodafone UK products and delivery channels to meet our regulatory obligations, leading the implementation and oversight of effective controls.
The individual in this position will provide Vodafone UK with clear regulatory interpretations and set corresponding policy expectations, taking a proportionate approach to risk-rating and assessment, whilst ensuring that the business always operates within our legal and regulatory risk appetites.
1. To support the Senior Compliance & Financial Crime Advice Manager in designing and implementing a fit for purpose operational model to support the effective management of financial crime risk & compliance, and the associated policy and governance lifecycle across Vodafone UK, including horizon scanning.
2. Establish and maintain a constructive and appropriate dialogue with the relevant regulators, including the NCA, the FCA and others ensure that any regulatory activities,, reporting obligations.
3. Work across the business and Group, engaging with pragmatic collaboration to find compliant solutions to business problems regarding financial crime regulatory/policy compliance.
4. Leadership of Vodafone UK activity to design, implement and execute annual risk assessment activity across all core financial crime compliance disciplines.
5. Ensure effective governance and reporting is in place, including regular KPIs/KRIs, the MLRO annual report and other reporting and ensure escalation of issues to Risk & Compliance Committee via the Senior Compliance & Financial Crime Advice Manager
6. Responsible for regulatory reporting obligations including reporting suspicious activities, ownership for breach reporting if required, as well as FCA REP-CRIM reporting.
7. Leadership of Vodafone UK reporting annual risk assessment activity across all core financial crime compliance disciplines, and the onward reporting of outcomes to Senior Leadership and Vodafone Group.
8. Design strategy and content for and deliver training across the business covering key topics within the financial crime remit, with support from HR.
9. Lead the strategy for stakeholder communications at all levels across Vodafone UK and Vodafone Group, ensuring that key stakeholder relationships are maintained positively, and ensuring a strong awareness and understanding of financial crime compliance delivery requirements, strategy and objectives.
10. Oversight the delivery of strategic action plans as a business partner to the 1st line to close compliance gaps, or deliver improvements required following Monitoring/3rd line Audit findings
11. Interact with senior stakeholders to provide accurate and timely advice on sensitive matters with a financial crime compliance implication – this may include preparatory briefings in readiness for stakeholder engagement by the General Counsel with HM Government departments such as OFSI.
Who you are
12. Experience working in a similar role in Financial Services, at Manager level, withing a financial crime/compliance discipline.
13. Proven experience of 2nd line Sanctions/AML/ABC advisory expertise in a business-partnership capacity.
14. Strong working knowledge of Sanctions/AML/ABC technology and systems
15. Strong analytical, written and verbal communication skills. Experience of writing policies, briefing papers, and reports, attending committees, and supporting senior management.
16. Experience of dealing with regulators and other external bodies in the financial crime compliance space as well as regulatory policy and legislation.
17. Advanced stakeholder management is essential - experience and ability to influence senior stakeholders and manage sensitive discussions is a necessary skill.
