SEN Teaching Assistant Job Type: Full-time, Temporary Location: RH6 Salary: Paid to scale We are on the lookout for a SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team, working primarily with children aged 5-12 who have Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). The ideal candidate will be patient, empathetic, and possess excellent communication skills, including both verbal and non-verbal techniques. Adaptability is crucial to tailor teaching methods to each child's needs. Teamwork is essential, as the role involves collaborating with teachers, parents, and other professionals. A valid driving license is required due to the school's location. Day-to-day of the role: Provide tailored support to children with ASD, ensuring they engage effectively in lessons and school activities. Work closely with the teaching staff to implement individual education plans (IEPs). Assist in the development of social skills and positive behaviour in a classroom setting. Monitor and support the progress of children, adapting techniques to meet their emotional and educational needs. Facilitate communication between children and help in developing their expressive abilities. Ensure the safety and well-being of all students under your care. Required Skills & Qualifications: Experience working with children with ASD or similar special educational needs. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. A valid driver's license and access to a vehicle, due to the location of the school.
