The Supervisor Production Operations – Cell Culture and Purifications for Beckman Coulter Diagnostics is responsible for supervising the mammalian cell culture and protein purification teams. These teams produce and purify monoclonal and polyclonal antibodies for use in immunodiagnostic test kits.
This position is part of Immunodiagnostics Production Operations located in Chaska, Minnesota and will be an on-site position.
You will be a part of the Upstream Reagent Formulations Team and report to the Manager of Reagent Formulations responsible for the production and purification of antibodies, and the generation of conjugates and coated particles.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
1. Lead a technical team of Cell Culture and Protein Purification scientists to achieve their best while assuring compliance with FDA Quality System Regulations (QSR), Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and ISO regulatory requirements.
2. Work in coordination with cross-functional team members to tackle problems and implement manufacturing improvement ideas.
3. Identify and recommend quality improvements to processes including but not limited to production methods, equipment, product quality, and efficiencies.
The essential requirements of the job include:
1. Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years’ experience, or master’s degree with 3+ years’ experience.
2. Experience directly or indirectly leading a team.
3. Organizing and tracking training for team members as well as completing documentation, maintaining accurate records of production and reporting status of work.
It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:
1. Proficiency with aseptic techniques, mammalian cell culture, protein purification, and protein characterization techniques.
2. Understanding of large-scale bioreactor systems, FPLC, HPLC, and protein characterization methods.
3. Familiarity with in vivo and in vitro antibody/antigen production.
4. Experience in a regulated industry preferred (e.g. FDA, ISO) with advanced knowledge of cell culture production and/or purification techniques.
