We are looking for a Support Worker to join the care team who is committed, reliable, and motivated to work with our client, family, therapists and school to ensure continuity.
The Support Worker will work with our client covering day shifts including pre and post school with longer shifts available at weekends and during the school holidays. You may also be asked to assist with supporting his siblings. You are expected to participate in team meetings, training sessions and supervision. Also adhere to all policies and procedures that are in place for our client’s safety, protection, and wellbeing.
The aim of our client’s care support is to provide access to play, therapy and social outings, to enable our client to be happy and safe, with every opportunity to reach his full potential, physically, developmentally and socially.
The Support Worker must be able to work on their own, take responsibility, respond sensitively and speedily as required in any situation, follow guidelines and communicate any areas of concern clearly and promptly.
What you will be doing:
1. Assist the client to exercise choice and control over their own lives as far as they are able in everyday matters but taking into consideration cognitive problems.
2. Liaise with and support the family as required.
3. Assist the client with personal care as needed.
4. Support the client to use local amenities such as shops and leisure facilities and attend community events.
5. Follow the service user plan as documented for the client.
6. Maintain accurate and confidential records.
7. Participate in manual handling procedures as specified for the client.
8. Maintain professional boundaries with the client and their family members, adhering to direction from the case manager as appropriate.
About you:
Essential:
1. You are reliable and professional - you value honesty and discretion.
2. You are friendly and approachable.
3. You are flexible and you work well under pressure.
4. You have experience in working with children with physical difficulties within a family home.
Preferred:
1. You have a full, clean UK driving licence.
2. You have your own car that you can use for work purposes.

Qualified staff assess clients’ needs and offer individually designed case management and rehabilitation programmes. The company was established in 1994 and is now a successful rehabilitation and case management consultancy, working in close co-operation with the legal profession. We now have four offices employing around 80 staff. We manage over 400 support workers and provide services to just under 400 clients nationally.
JSP are not an employment agency, we help our clients to recruit their own support workers as part of our case management service. You will be employed directly by the client, however, JSP oversee all aspects of the clients care package on her behalf.
