Our client is seeking a Trainer/ Assessor who wishes to build their career and support their Construction Learning & Development Manager with the primary goal of enhancing the skills, knowledge, and competencies of the workforce to ensure they meet and exceed industry standards. By providing high-quality training and assessment, the team aims to create a highly skilled, safe, and efficient workforce that can adapt to the evolving demands of the Transmission and Distribution sector. The role is hybrid, based out of Darlington with home working and on-site requirements as and when required.
The Role

You will have experience of delivering comprehensive training programs ensuring that all employees adhere to safety regulations and compliance standards in order to reduce the risk of accidents and incidents, fostering a safer working environment. As a skilled trainer/ assessor, you will have proven experience of equipping employees with the necessary technical and practical skills, enhancing productivity and operational efficiency allowing for reliable and effective transmission and distribution operations. Through continuous learning initiatives, you will be able to demonstrate how you have contributed to ensuring employees stay updated with the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices, enabling the company to remain competitive and innovative.
The ideal candidate will have gained relevant experience in a medium to large sized company in a highly regulated industry with multi-site operations. Keen to hear from individuals with experience from growth orientated companies and who have used advanced technologies and innovative training solutions, including digital tools and e-learning platforms who are versed in cross functional collaboration.
Typical Responsibilities:
* Keep up with the continuous evolution of technologies in the Transmission and Distribution sector, ensuring that training programs are always current and relevant
* Address the varying skill levels and learning styles of a diverse workforce, from new hires to experienced employees, to ensure effective knowledge transfer
* Stay abreast of changing industry regulations and standards and ensuring that all training materials and programs are updated accordingly
* Manage time and resources efficiently to deliver high-quality training programs while balancing other responsibilities and projects
* Ensure high levels of engagement and retention in training programs and developing robust metrics and assessment tools to accurately measure the impact of training programs on employee performance and company goals
* Ensure all employees possess the necessary technical and practical skills to perform their roles effectively and safely
* Keep the workforce up to date with ever-changing industry regulations and standards to ensure full compliance and minimise legal and financial risks
* Reduce workplace incidents by promoting a strong safety culture through rigorous training programs focused on best practices and hazard awareness
* Enhance overall productivity and efficiency by providing training that improves job performance and reduces downtime and errors
* Equip employees with the skills to quickly adapt to new technologies, methodologies, and market demands, ensuring the company remains competitive and innovative
Qualifications
Essential:
* Assessors Qualification – TAQA / CAVA Level 3 or above
* Learning and Development Qualification Level 3 or above
* Knowledge of OHL Transmission and Distribution
* Recognised Industry trainer
* Proficiency with MS Office skills with Word, Excel and Power Point
* Strong team builder capable of identifying and adopting best practices, engendering a spirit of cooperation and energising people towards optimum performance enabling cross functional best practice
* Effective communication (written & verbal) and presentation skills
* Strong influencer, negotiator, and mediator
* Coaching and mentoring capabilities
* UK Drivers Licence and willingness to travel to various sites
Desirable:
* EUSR SHEA Power Accredited Trainer
* Accredited First Aid Trainer
* NPORS / CPCS Certified Trainer
* Health and Safety Qualification NEBOSH / IOSH
* Civils experience
* Delivery of Apprenticeship / Traineeship schemes
