Teacher of Mathematics
This is an outstanding opportunity for an enthusiastic Teacher of Mathematics to join a large, forward-thinking and high-achieving department, in an outstanding School.
Over 300 Hampton boys study Mathematics in the Sixth Form, of whom 120 take Further Mathematics. The Department is renowned as one of the best in the country. Our young mathematicians have in recent years been crowned champions in the prestigious UK Maths Team Challenge and the Hans Woyda competition, they excel in individual competitions such as the British Maths Olympiad and many go on to read Mathematics at top Universities.
The School is proud of its large and vibrant Mathematics Department who are all passionate about their subject and help ensure every boy achieves to the best of his ability. In this academically selective school, the challenges include stretching the most able up to Oxbridge level, therefore the ability to teach Mathematics up to and including Further Mathematics and Oxbridge entrance with confidence is desirable but not essential.
The successful candidate will be expected to teach up to 30 (40 minute) lessons per week, which would usually include a games afternoon and a form tutor period.
A contribution to the wider life of the School is also expected from staff at Hampton and Teachers may be responsible to other colleagues in their work, (e.g. a Form Tutor will have the Head of Year as their immediate line manager for pastoral work).
The School has its own salary scale and offers generous non-contractual benefits, well above the maintained sector, to attract high-calibre candidates. Accommodation may also be available for the successful applicant. There is a very strong commitment at Hampton to supporting the continuing professional development of colleagues.
Further details of the post can be found in the attached and by visiting the Hampton School website.
We encourage applications as soon as possible as the School reserves the right to commence or complete the interview process at any time prior to the closing date.
