Our client is a niche engineering company that is in the heart of Birmingham with an international footprint. They design, manufacture and install security and barrier systems. This ranges from electrical access control systems, to physical barrier turnstiles in stadiums and to traffic systems and bespoke metal gates for large and commercial businesses. This is across many industry including, public and private, from airports, to shipyards to councils. The company is well established with an operation that expands to almost 30 years. They are now looking to expand their presence and have a strategic roadmap to help achieve this. As a result they are looking to make some strategic hires that can help take the organisation into the next stage of their journey. As a result they are looking for a Production Manager to come and join their team. The role will report into the production manager. This would ideally suit an ambitious individual who thrives in a team environment and is able to drive team performances and nurture the next generation of talent. Compensation and Benefits £35k - £45k Depending on experience Performance related bonus 28 days Holiday (Including bank holidays) extra after minimum time served Pension On site - Monday - Friday 8am - 5pm As Production Manager, youll oversee all aspects of the production process, from planning to supervision, ensuring efficiency, quality, and team motivation. Reporting to the Operations Manager, this role is critical to driving operational excellence in a niche engineering company poised for international growth. Only applicants with relevant and demonstrable experience will be considered. Key Responsibilities: Plan, schedule, and oversee production activities to meet quality and productivity targets. Manage stock control, machine and tool maintenance, and the quality-checking processes. Drive operational efficiencies and propose innovative solutions to improve processes. Lead, inspire, and coach your team to achieve high performance. Handle labour scheduling, non-conformance reporting, and CRM processing. Collaborate with sales and communicate design changes effectively to production teams. Ensure compliance with ISO standards and manage value engineering initiatives. React to site issues, implement recovery plans, and report progress clearly upstream and downstream. Your Skills: Proven leadership and team management experience. Strong communication and reporting abilities. Methodical thinker with a can-do attitude and commercial awareness. Ability to identify risks, plan effectively, and adapt to changing demands.
