This role focuses on delivering effective and competitive procurement solutions to meet the needs of our regional operating unit. As a Procurement Specialist, you will be responsible for managing supply chain relationships, negotiating contracts, and ensuring projects are supported with the best value materials and services. You'll play a key part in developing procurement strategies, monitoring market trends, and driving supply chain performance to optimise cost and operational efficiency. This position is ideal for a detail-oriented professional with strong negotiation skills and a passion for delivering high-quality outcomes in the construction industry.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Develop and manage the regional supply chain to meet operating unit demand and ensure capacity aligns with project requirements.
2. Deliver cost-effective procurement solutions, demonstrating the best value for money in tender processes.
3. Provide comprehensive procurement services for sub-contractors and materials across all project stages, including pre-construction and construction.
4. Create and manage procurement schedules, work package documents, and sub-contracts in collaboration with project teams.
5. Drive supply chain performance, monitor relationships, and implement improvements for cost and operational benefits.
6. Support group procurement objectives and contribute to regional strategies.
7. Monitor market trends and assess new supply chain members to align with project needs.
8. Maintain compliance with procurement processes, ensuring contracts are robust and aligned with business interests.
Requirements:
1. Proven experience in procurement within the construction or infrastructure sector.
2. Detailed knowledge of construction practices from pre-construction to project completion.
3. Strong understanding of NEC contracts and procurement strategy.
4. Proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, etc.).
5. Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
6. Ability to manage supply chain relationships effectively to deliver continuous improvement.
Desirable:
1. Knowledge of sustainability in procurement practices.
2. Membership or working towards CIPS (Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply).
3. Experience with Primavera P6.
