Role overview:
The Director, Product & Marketing is a senior global leadership role and has responsibility for: Defining and driving the overall product vision, strategy and execution across the organisation; and Designing and executing a marketing strategy that will leverage our competitive advantage to drive revenue growth.
With oversight of the development and management of a portfolio of technology-driven financial services products, ensuring alignment with business objectives and fostering innovation to meet client and market needs, the role holder will need strong leadership to enable them to engage with cross-functional teams based in the UK, India and Australia, enhancing market competitiveness and using their experience in building new products and business from first principles.
The Director, Product & Marketing will be based from one of our stunning central locations in either Leeds or London, with a requirement at times to travel.
Key deliverables:
Strategic Focus:
1. Develop and communicate a compelling product and marketing vision and strategy which aligns with the company's goals
2. Identify and prioritise international markets for expansion and develop localisation requirements to ensure geographic fit
3. Identify market opportunities and trends to guide product innovation and differentiation
4. Act as the primary advocate for the product vision internally and externally, building and maintaining a product roadmap that prioritises initiatives based on customer needs, market demand and business objectives
5. Develop a comprehensive marketing strategy with a focus on brand awareness and market share whilst defining and managing our brand position, message and value proposition to differentiate our products and services in the market
Operational Management:
1. Take a holistic approach to product development, ensuring operational support processes are in place, documentation available, marketing collateral and FAQs are developed and sales assets and training tools provided
2. Build strong relationships with key clients, partners and industry stakeholders to ensure product-market fit and customer satisfaction
3. Identify go to market strategies to identify rapid paths to distribution to both existing and new customers
4. Define and manage product budgets to ensure financial objectives are met, managing Product & Brand P&L end to end
5. Present product updates, strategies and performance metrics to the Executive team and Board of Directors
6. Ensure products deliver measurable value to customers and meet revenue and profitability targets, developing pricing strategies to maximise revenue and competitiveness
7. Collaborate with the Technology team to ensure scalable, secure and user-friendly product design
8. Oversee digital marketing efforts, including website management and content marketing to enhance lead generation and brand visibility, in addition to working closely with the sales teams to develop marketing materials, case studies and pitch decks that support client acquisition
People Leadership:
1. Lead, mentor, develop and grow high-performing global Product Management and Marketing teams, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability and continuous learning
2. Partner with other department heads to ensure cross-functional alignment and effective resource allocation
Governance & Risk:
1. Stay ahead of compliance trends and regulatory changes that have an impact on the product or business model, overseeing compliance with industry regulations and internal governance standards
2. Ensure product design processes and products comply with internal risk guidelines

What you need:
As with any role, we want to find the right person and we want to make sure you know it's the right role for you too. You will need:
1. Experience in Financial services with an understanding of the capital markets environment, with 10+ years of product management experience and at least 5 years in a leadership role
2. Demonstrated success in managing a portfolio of B2B or B2C technology products, you will have actually built software products from scratch previously in a matrixed organisation
3. Strong financial management experience controlling a large capex budget and managing a P&L for products
4. Experience taking products to market and marketing them
5. Demonstrable experience of leading and working with global teams and development teams, working across departments, building consensus and taking everyone with you
6. A strong track record of driving innovation, revenue growth and operational excellence
7. The drive, desire, passion and resilience to lead a team in a complex environment
8. Strong analytical skills with a creative approach to problem-solving to enable you to make data-driven decisions
9. Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with the ability to inspire confidence, influence and motivate others whilst articulating product vision and strategy to diverse audiences
