A coeducation day school in Bristol with a separate nursery, separate prep school through to main senior school. Catering for around 900 students and teachers daily. Our catering offer includes a morning purchased snack offer, lunch served in the main dining hall, and separate lunch sent to the nursery facility. There is also a sixth form café serving tea, coffee, pastries, and hot snacks. This location has a good amount of high-end hospitality. The school operates Monday to Friday with catering for match teas only on Saturday. Additional benefits to this location include use of an on-site gym and free parking facilities.
This is a full-time role - term time only. Mainly Monday to Friday. Shift timings 0700 - 1500 daily, all chefs work 1 Saturday in 5.
There is an option for overtime during the school holidays at other locations.
We are looking for a talented Chef De Partie to join our team at one of our prestigious locations in Bristol.
You will have previous experience of working within a fast-paced kitchen at CDP or junior sous chef level.
You will be excited to work with fresh seasonal ingredients and regularly changing bespoke menus. You will be creative and have the opportunity to showcase your skillset.
Key responsibilities:
* To work well in a team of chefs providing catering services to pupils and teachers
* To produce food for service using fresh ingredients, cooking from scratch and following the company's brand standards
* Ensuring company food standards are adhered to and wastage controlled.
* Ensuring all Food Hygiene and Health & Safety policies and allergen control procedures are followed.
You will have the following skills:
* A genuine interest in food and excellent customer service

* An organised Chef with attention to detail
* Understand the basics of food cost and wastage.
* Ability to demonstrate reasonable/good understanding and use of verbal English.
* Ability to demonstrate reasonable/good standard of written English and reading skills.
* Similar experience in a customer and/or food preparation environment is preferred.
