We have an exciting opportunity for a Band 6 Social Worker to join us in delivering community mental health care within the Welwyn, Hatfield area of Hertfordshire. We are looking for a Social Worker who is passionate about delivering care to adults with mental health issues.
This role attracts a Golden Hello of £3,500, new employees only - terms and conditions apply.
Main duties of the job
As a Social Worker in an Adult Community Mental Health Service (ACMHS), you will:
* Provide clinical expertise and leadership.
* Participate in the referral and allocation process.
* Safeguard vulnerable children and adults.
* Contribute to case discussions and service-related meetings.
* Manage a caseload and provide direct support and advice to Service Users (Adults of all ages) and Carers, within the recovery framework.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
* Champion social care with a comprehensive understanding of legislation and statutory requirements.
* Lead in promoting adult safeguarding practice and undertake safeguarding inquiries.
* Undertake comprehensive assessments and reviews for high-risk individuals.
* Offer direct support to service users and their carers through information and advice.
* Ensure appropriate health and social care services are commissioned with and on behalf of service users.
Person specification
KNOWLEDGE, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE
* An appropriate professional social work qualification.
* Registration with Social Work England.
* Training in principles and application of outcomes-focused assessments.
* Relevant post-qualifying training for social workers.
* Training and experience in Safeguarding.
* Approved Mental Health Professional/Best Interests Assessment Training.
AREAS OF EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE
* Minimum of 2 years post-qualification experience.
* Knowledge of legislation, theory, and policy in relation to the relevant care group.
* Experience of undertaking assessments focused on personalization, choice, and control.
* Understanding and experience of personal budgets and direct payments.
* Experience of multidisciplinary working and ability to work collaboratively.
* Experience of partnership working with service users and carers.
COMMUNICATION SKILLS
* Excellent ability to communicate with a wide range of stakeholders.
* Ability to manage highly sensitive information.
* Experience of using electronic recording systems and ability to produce accurate reports.
ANALYTICAL SKILLS
* Ability to analyze service user and carer information.
* Experience of undertaking small-scale audits and surveys.
