CYP Counsellors Required: Home-Based, Cambridgeshire & Peterborough

Salary – £30,000 per annum
Full Time – 35 hours per week
You will be working as part of the Ormiston Families Interventions Team, within the YOUnited partnership (Ormiston Families, Centre 33 and Cambridgeshire & Peterborough Foundation Trust). YOUnited provides a single point of access for all referrals for CYP in need of support with their mental health across Cambridgeshire and Peterborough. Ormiston Families work with CYP aged 5-13 with mild to moderate mental health and emotional wellbeing needs.
We are seeking candidates who are dedicated to improving services and want to make a positive difference for children and young people. You will provide short-term therapeutic interventions for children with mild to moderate mental health issues, offering a blend of face-to-face and online counselling sessions.
You will join a supportive team where clinical supervision is provided. We are also very keen to develop our service as a provider of high-quality trainee counsellor placements. Training will be provided on the ‘Single Sessions Thinking’ model, which has proved to be very successful.
Successful candidates will:
* Be a qualified counsellor and BACP registered.
* Have a good understanding of the needs of children, young people and their families aged 5-12.
* Have significant (minimum 12 months) post-qualification experience working with this age group.
* Have a good understanding of safeguarding and a commitment to keeping CYP safe.
The main office is in March, Cambridgeshire, but successful candidates will work from home, with most counselling sessions undertaken in schools. An ability to travel across Cambridgeshire and Peterborough is essential.
