Young People & Violent Crime About the role We are excited to recruit to the role of Project Worker Young People & Violent Crime, Fixed term for 12 months within the Family Resource Service of the Council s Early Help Division. Fixed term funding has been gained to create this post which will support the delivery and oversight of Grant funded projects supporting young people. Specifically you will support a range of Prevention projects to decrease the number of young people entering the youth justice system and help run the Holiday Activity & Food Programme (HAF) which provides activities and food for young people on free school meals during the school holidays. This is an interesting and varied role, working closely with the Project Management Officer for Grant Funded Projects. The post has a strong partnership focus, working with schools, external agencies and providers, regional and national contacts, as well as directly with young people. You will be involved in setting up, overseeing and supporting the delivery of grant-funded projects and diversionary activities. You will work directly with young people, across different services and with a range of partner agencies to ensure the needs of young people are assessed and understood and that agencies work together to develop approaches that make a positive difference to the lives of young people. You will help build pathways of support for young people and strengthen working relationships between different agencies with a shared aim to reduce the number of young people involved in criminality. Funding is available to su pport the work and the post holder will have budget management responsibilities whilst ensuring approaches are impactful and make a difference. The ability to use data to formulate plans and measure outcomes is necessary, including report writing skills and assessment of impact. The role may involve some evening work, including street based detached. You will support the delivery of the HAF programme to ensure a range of activities accessible to children and young people during the school holidays. You will work closely with the Project Manager to set up and oversee the HAF activities, monitor the HAF systems and respond to HAF enquiries and requests from families, providers, schools and other professionals. The ability to form positive relationships and work creatively is essential, as is the need to be highly organised with attention to detail and accuracy. Experience of partnership work with internal and external stakeholders is vital.
