What skills and experience we're looking for
We are seeking to appoint an outstanding lead practitioner to join our large inclusive maintained nursery school. We have 134 children on roll in the school and in addition, we offer a range of services to young children and their families including specialist provision for children with social and communication difficulties.
Previous experience working within an Early Years setting - ideally as a Room Leader, Nursery Nurse, Practitioner in a school, or an Early Years Educator in a day-care setting.
The successful candidate will be qualified to Level 3 or above, have experience of working with children in the Foundation Stage and will be required to assist with planning, recording and reporting progress. Knowledge of the EYFS is essential and only candidates with a good level of English and Maths will be considered. Experience of under 3’s is essential

1:1 and group enhanced supervision through an external provider for staff who want this.

Supporting children's learning through play
• To work under the professional guidance of the senior leadership team, to provide direct support for the learning of individual children or groups of children, including those with special needs during the term time
• Work collaboratively with all colleagues to ensure the harmonious and smooth daily running of the school
• To lead and interact effectively with the classroom team, in order to enable access to learning and to support achievement and progress for all children
• To undertake the administration, management and organisation of the class including 2 year checks
• To ensure children are kept safe and that all current safeguarding procedures are adhered to.
• To contribute to the monitoring and assessing of pupils achievement, progress and development through collecting evidence of learning e.g. verbal feedback, observational notes

• To meet with the Deputy head/SLT regularly regarding planning, pupil progress and achievement.
• To plan and ensure an appropriate learning environment and keep it in good order.
• To contribute to the whole school ethos, environment and organisation both practically and as a positive role model for pupils and colleagues.

• Promote the inclusion and acceptance of all pupils in the classroom. Using Attachment Aware approaches and strategies.
