Main duties of the job An opportunity has arisen to join the Colorectal team within the Surgery Care Group as a locum Consultant Surgeon in Colorectal with a 101 PA job plan. Candidates should be able to manage an undifferentiated general surgical take including major trauma and should have a subspecialist colorectal interest. Candidates should have GMC specialist registration. You will be part of a team of 13 colorectal consultants working in a busy tertiary referral teaching hospital. Elective working will include colorectal cancer MDT's and IBD MDT's, elective laparoscopic and open surgery, Colonoscopy lists and outpatient activity. You will be expected to cover the unselected emergency weekend take on a 1:20 rota. Further weekend working covering emergency colorectal 1:20 and colorectal ward rounds 1:20 resulting in 3:20 weekends worked.
