You will be employed by HomeCareDirect on behalf of the client and your focus will be to support them only. This role will be to cover 36hrs a week. About the Client and Duties This is a rewarding opportunity to support a young man with a brain injury as he lives independently at home. Your role will be to empower him to lead an active and fulfilling life by providing personal care, companionship and assistance in engaging with a diverse range of multi-disciplinary therapies. A key aspect of this role involves supporting him in social and sporting activities, helping him build meaningful connections and assisting with daily living tasks such as meal preparation, support with health & fitness, diary management, managing finances. We are seeking a compassionate and proactive individual to work closely with him, his family and therapists to enhance his quality of life to the fullest. You should be able to demonstrate core values that align with our clients which demonstrate a willingness to learn, honesty and integrity and living life to the full. You will ideally have experience working in a similar role and have a good level of physical fitness to support effective manual handling. You must be compassionate, trustworthy and able to work with initiative, within a family home who have dogs. Training and Support: We provide comprehensive, paid training to CQC standards covering: Full induction Safeguarding Adults Health & Safety / First Aid / Food Hygiene Moving & Handling Personal care / Pressure Area Care / Gastrostomy Care Medication Administering /MCA & DOLS Brain Injury Awareness / Dysphagia / Dysarthria All training must be completed before the start date, with training hours paid at minimum wage Requirements: Driver with a full, clean UK driving licence who can drive an adapted vehicle (van sized) Previous care experience Excellent verbal, non-verbal and written communication skills Good level of physical fitness Happy to work in a family home with dogs Non-smoker due to working in a family home Commitment to long-term, person-centred care You must be reliable, compassionate and committed to respecting confidentiality Our organisation is committed to safe and fair recruitment, safeguarding and protecting those we care for and serve.
