One of our large rail clients is looking for a Civils Project Engineer to work on a Multi Billion Pound Project in Manchester.
Responsibilities:
1. Assist the Project / Construction Manager by providing technical leadership for allocated contracts and guidance / mentorship to less experienced engineers.
2. Create and implement a mentoring / development plan for engineers and apprentices assigned for mentorship / development.
3. Manage the engineering activity on the allocated projects including support for design reviews and communication with other functions.
4. Advise the Construction / Project Manager on engineering requirements and specification issues, including marking out of sites.
5. Carry out and record briefings of technical updates to the project team, including sub-contractors.
6. Assist the Construction / Project Manager in developing the plan for engineering resource required to deliver the project plan.
7. Produce and implement an in-process inspection and surveillance regime consistent with company standards.
8. Provide necessary site support to the project team throughout the works.
9. Responsible for ensuring WPPs / TBs for all allocated works are produced and in place to a high standard.
10. Mentorship of other engineers may be across project boundaries.
11. Direct responsibility for the engineering element of the allocated project(s).
12. Providing input to bids and guidance for other projects likely to fall within the SPEs remit.
13. Line and people manager duties as required.
14. Undertake regular PDR 1-2-1 conversations and manage staff development of direct reports.
The role is based in an office / site environment. It is a requirement of the role to attend site when required (including weekends and/or night shifts) to deliver allocated works within the track contract.
