Adoption in Merseyside (AiM) is the Regional Adoption Agency for the Merseyside region covering Knowsley, Sefton, Liverpool and Wirral. AiM provides all statutory adoption functions including recruitment and assessment of adopters, family finding for children and adoption support.
There is one full time Social Worker post within AiM Recruitment and Assessment Team. This post is for preparing and assessing potential adopters, training, report writing, attending AiM Adoption Panel, supporting adopters with children placed and working in an experienced adoption recruitment team.
The successful applicants will need to be qualified and professionally registered as a social worker, have an understanding of the statutory guidance, legislation and research relating to adoption. Good assessment skills and an understanding of adoption social work practice and processes will be required for this post. Also, a good understanding of adopted children's needs and the ability to work collaboratively with Local Authority Social Workers as well as an understanding of Children Looked After policies and procedures.
