Join an exciting project dedicated to the sustainable management of Welsh woodlands, where you'll play a crucial role in supporting the Geospatial Team. Using advanced GIS tools like ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS Map, you'll help shape spatial data services to aid strategic, place-based environmental decisions.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Deliver a specialised digitising service, creating essential spatial data for protected sites, urban green spaces, and woodland grants.
2. Provide high-quality mapping, data manipulation, and statistical analysis to support evidence-based decision-making.
3. Manage an archive of aerial imagery, maps, and spatial data in both digital and physical formats.
4. Offer expert advice, developing style guides and technical support, ensuring alignment with ITIL frameworks and supporting GIS champions across the organisation.
5. Produce and publish custom GIS maps for web, reports, and more, ensuring compliance with standards and copyright.
Qualifications & Skills:
1. Proficient in GIS tools ArcGIS Pro/ArcGIS WebMap, with hands-on experience in spatial data management, digitising, and data transformation.
2. Skilled in map creation, styling, and setting standards for GIS products.
3. Knowledge of handling sensitive data and managing map/aerial photo archives.
4. Degree in a relevant field (data management, environmental or computer science) or equivalent experience.
5. Familiarity with ITIL or similar user support frameworks is beneficial.
