Main duties of the job Undertake formal and informal training sessions to nursing staff in Haematology and Oncology. To work clinically with staff and in Haematology and Oncology and support them in achieving and maintaining competencies within the skillset of SACT administration CVAD care and the care of Oncology and Haematology patients. To maintain accurate records of staff training. To work closely with management to review and update training pathways for staff working in the Sandra Chapman Centre. To undertake appropriate planned practice education and with the clinical and management team develop assist in developing further training and development plans for Haematology and Oncology. Promote and support nursing practices based on research. To act as a mentor to students and support mentors on a regular basis within Haematology and Oncology in different clinical areas across the divisions. Dealing with complex decisions relating to student placements. To work clinically with nursing staff and students in practice and support with specific learning outcomes. To be up-to-date with course curriculum and understand the assessment process for students. To support mentors on the ward and to have protected time to support students, whilst ensuring that mentorship and education policies are adhered to. Assist with and carry-out audit.
