- THE ROLE -
The Sports Services Supervisor will be part of the team responsible for the day-to-day supervision of Sports Services Assistants/Fitness Assistants and the provision of a service for users of Sports Centre facilities. In the absence of the Sports Services Officer and the Sports Services Co-ordinator, they will assume responsibility for the general operations of the Sports Centre and associated facilities as required.
A shift allowance of 9.85% is payable for working outside the hours of 8:45am and 5:00pm. Weekend enhancements of 11.19% are payable for working Saturday and Sunday.
- ABOUT YOU -
- A BTEC HND qualification or equivalent in an area including or related to Physical Education/Recreation Management/Sports Coaching, or in the final stages of the qualification.
- A Fitness Instructor’s Award or equivalent.
- Experience within a sports centre role supervising human and physical resources, including marketing of facilities. Promoting and delivering classes and exercise programmes including the preparation of individual programmes in fitness and strength and conditioning, to assist in the development of clubs and of individual performances.
- Knowledge of both physiological and skills development.
- Ability to initiate new ideas, in step with the local requirements and current trends in sport and recreation.
- Previous experience of risk assessment/health and safety regulations.
- Awareness of the current marketplace within the sport & recreation sector and evidence of a pro-active response.
