Job summary Applications are invited for the post of Clinical Teaching Fellow in Gastroenterology & Simulation. This twelve-month post offers an exciting opportunity for a trainee to develop experience and skills as a Medical Educator. This post is 50% Clinical in nature and 50% Simulation/Education. Homerton healthcare is a Foundation Trust and teaching hospital in East London. It is a trauma unit and was the designated hospital for the 2012 Olympic Games. It is within easy walking distance to Homerton Overground station, with easy access to major transport links. By the end of the post, the post holder will have completed the following learning objectives 1. Have run, developed and directed a simulation course 2. Presented at a national or international simulation conference 3. Completed various simulation-based research outputs 4. Developed skills and experience in medical education Main duties of the job Key faculty member - hands on delivery and teaching of simulation courses across the trust to the doctors, nurses and allied health professionals Management & Leadership - e.g. support department to organise and run regular educational sessions Quality assurance - e.g. obtaining and analysing participant and facilitator feedback, writing/publishing significant findings and dissemination of good practice throughout the UK Work closely with the British Society of Gastroenterology & JAG to develop & deliver of JAG approved mandatory Basic Skills in Upper & Lower Endoscopy courses locally Complete simulation based research outputs and present at national and international conferences Support the TPD in delivery of Regional Teaching Programme Work closely with other Homerton Simulation fellows on designated projects.
