Occupational Therapist (Rotational Post)

We are looking for a dynamic and motivated Band 6 Occupational Therapist to join our OT rotations at Queen Alexandra Hospital. We work in a fast-paced acute hospital environment, providing high-quality care across a variety of specialties, including Acute Medical and Neurological.
Main duties of the job
Our rotational program offers diverse clinical exposure and supports professional growth through a range of specialist areas. We would consider Band 5 applicants in a development role.

Job responsibilities
1. Provide high-quality, patient-centred care in an acute hospital setting across various rotations.
2. Conduct comprehensive assessments and develop treatment plans to enable patients to achieve their maximum level of independence.
3. Participate in discharge planning, including complex discharges and liaising with community services to ensure safe and effective transitions of care.
4. Have strong clinical reasoning skills with the ability to manage a caseload independently.
5. Adapt quickly to different specialties and manage the challenges of working in a busy hospital environment.
6. Support and supervise Band 5 Occupational Therapists, Therapy Assistants, and students.
7. Contribute to service development initiatives, audits, and quality improvement projects.
8. Demonstrate commitment to professional development and evidence-based practice.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* Occupational Therapist BSc or MSc
* HCPC registration
Experience
* Experience of discharge planning and of working with external agencies.
* Experience of working with service users and their families.
* Documented evidence of CPD.
